Concrete Bag Chart: Bags Needed per Cubic Yard and Cubic Foot
One cubic yard of concrete equals 27 cubic feet. Bagged concrete lists a yield in cubic feet per bag on the packaging, which lets you convert straight to bag counts. For anything larger than about 1 cubic yard (roughly 60 bags of 60 lb mix), ready-mix delivery is almost always cheaper and less physically demanding than bagged concrete.

Notes
- Round up bag counts, don't round down — running short mid-pour creates a cold joint that weakens the slab.
- A 4-inch-thick, 10x10 ft patio needs about 1.24 cubic yards, or roughly 75 bags of 60 lb mix — for anything this size, price-check delivered ready-mix first.
- Yield figures assume full water hydration per bag instructions; adding extra water to make mixing easier reduces final strength and yield.
