Editorial Team

Every page here is written, calculated and reviewed by a named person — not published anonymously.

Who is the editor?

Jim Vernon is the editor of Home & Garden Answers. He plans the site's calculators, writes and reviews the guides, and checks the constants behind every result — coverage rates, spacing tables, soil volumes, R-values and cost ranges — against manufacturer data sheets and public extension-service guidance before they ship.

The work here is practitioner-led rather than academic: the numbers come from doing the jobs, then checking them against published figures. Where a figure is contested, the page says so and uses the more conservative value.

How is the work reviewed?

  • Calculator constants are re-checked whenever manufacturers publish new data.
  • Seasonal garden content is reviewed before each growing season.
  • Cost pages are reviewed annually and dated on the page.
  • Corrections are made on the page itself, never quietly deleted.

What we will not do

No invented credentials, no fabricated testimonials, no manufacturer copy passed off as advice. The full rules are on the editorial standards page.
