Flooring
Luxury Vinyl Tile (LVT)
A fully waterproof, resilient plastic-composite flooring that mimics wood or stone, sold as planks or tiles.

Best for
- Bathrooms, kitchens, and basements
- Households with pets
- Anyone wanting warmth underfoot with real water tolerance
Avoid when
- Buyers who want a genuinely natural material rather than a convincing imitation
Fully waterproof, not just water-resistant
Unlike laminate, genuine LVT tolerates standing water indefinitely because there is no wood fibre in the plank, which is why it dominates bathroom and kitchen flooring today.
Rigid core vs flexible
SPC (stone-plastic composite) core LVT resists dents and telegraphing of subfloor imperfections far better than older flexible vinyl planks, at a modest cost premium.
